Saying thank you doesn’t stop depending on what the society dictates as good manners. It is actually one of the important things to do to be more positive in the eyes of everyone. A simple gesture to show gratitude may not even have to be uttered.
Yes, a smile can launch a thousand ships according to a song and surely a heart-warming smile will bring good vibes to you. Try to avoid the half-hearted ones since it could be easily understood as sarcasm.
How can you show gratitude during stressing moments at work? There are some people who use color-coordinated notes to keep them conscious their good deed count. It’s such a waste of resource so better follow these simple tips:
1) Say thank you and mean it.
An honest to goodness way to show gratitude is through making non-verbal actions. A nod, a not too gripping handshake, a pat on the back or even opening the door for someone within your gender is a way to receive positive reactions.
2) Appreciate the smallest things.
For some people, small things are very easy to ignore since they have not much of a bearing anyway. Yet, being able to appreciate such small things and showing the person who did it would turn out to be a big thing for them. Often times you would be given a “No problem” when you say thank you. It’s better if you just heard “You’re welcome.”
